After the Flood...
As many of you know Mawgan Porth suffered a flood in 2024 that affected many of our friends and neighbours.
Our Village Hall was damaged and we were overwhelmed and moved by the support we received in the aftermath.
The community then agreed that it was time to look to the future and build a new Hall - but also to protect the current space we love from future extreme weather events.
While the Committee continues to plan for our rebuild, we are delighted to say that we are completing flood protective alterations to the Hall, to included non return valves on water and sewage systems and new doors which prevent water coming in to the building around their seals.
A new pump is already doing great work reducing the water table under the building to below the level it previously stood.
The committee is grateful for all the hours of work our friends and supporters have put in to protecting our community space.

While we continue to plan the new build - we are so grateful for your active support for our Village Hall.
Thank you.

EXCITING NEWS!
HELP US UPGRADE THE LOOK OF THE HALL!

The Management Committee feel that the Village Hall should show itself to be the important centrepiece for all leisure, fitness, family and community events here in Mawgan Porth. We feel that it’s appearance does not do it justice and we would like to update it with a striking makeover.
We have our own ideas, of course but, as this is a building for the community, we appeal to the creative among the local community to let us have your ideas of how the front of the building can be made more attractive and more welcoming and, perhaps more practical.

Attached is a picture of the front of the Hall as it is.
Send us your ideas of how it could look, either by email or on a print to :
Viv Farmer, Polwithen, St Mawgan, Cornwall TR8 4EW           or   [email protected]

No prizes, but we will credit the successful designer in our publicity.

Mawgan Porth Village Hall

This fine village hall is in the heart of Mawgan Porth, just off the coast road between Padstow and Newquay. There is a large car park available with wheelchair access to the hall. The building is ideal for every occasion large or small, with a main hall, two smaller committee rooms and a fitted kitchen with a hatch into the main hall; it is a flexible space for a yoga class, children's party, a wedding reception, a small discussion room or a large village event. Stunning sea views provide a background for photos, just a short walk away, on the family beach.
There is a traditional wooden dance floor in the main hall which is licensed for 120 seated and 190 standing. The stage has some provision for the attachment of lighting and sound systems.
The building is licensed for both live and recorded musical performances, films and plays.  Ample tables and chairs are available for small club meetings or larger table
top, fund-raising sales.
Mawgan Porth Village Hall is easy to find but out of the hustle and bustle of town.
